Damian is an account planner and strategist with more than 30 years’ experience in advertising agencies and brand consultancies. He has been a partner at OSR Partners since 2009 and he is also a founder member of Sagency.uk , a brand mentoring practice, focussed on professional services and education.

From 2004 to 2009 Damian was the Chief Strategy Officer EMEA of McCann Erickson, the world’s largest advertising agency, where he managed more than 70 account planning departments from Oslo to Jo’burg and Dublin to Dubai.

Prior to joining McCann Damian was one of the founders of an international brand architecture consultancy with offices in London, Dublin and New York. Between 1992 and 1997 he was the Strategic Planning Director of DDB in New York. From 1977 to 1992 he worked in London as an account planner at three agencies: BMP DDB, Gold Greenlees Trottand Woollams Moira Gaskin O’Malley.

Damian’s international client experience includes Intel, Digital, Honeywell, Mobil, GM, Statoil, Vodafone, Barclays, Cadbury’s, Columbia University, Boots, Nestlé and News International. In Ireland he has worked with clients such as Diageo, EBS, RTÉ, Bank of Ireland, Musgrave, Tourism Brand Ireland, and many others.

Damian read experimental psychology at Wadham College, Oxford. He is an honorary life member of the UK’s Account Planning Group, and a founder member and former Chair of the AAAA’s US Account Planning committee. In 1998 he was named as one of two strategic planners in Campaign magazine’s fantasy agency of the last 30 years. He is published widely if not always well!
